Behind the Scenes with Black Rose Productions

Columbus & Co. was granted special access behind the scenes of a Black Rose Production with Matt Hodgman of the Edge Gallery and Jana Merten with Jana Rose Arts. It was great to witness an American Made work of art with high profile props, large budgets and creative minds. I was able to capture quite a few photos of the production process and Matt doing his work photographing Jana model various wardrobes with multiple settings. They had a small plane, a private jet and a Lamborghini Superleggera among several outfits, a slew of lights and camera gear.

To add to the day of stylish photography Matt was dressed in his 12oz Railcar Fine Goods Spikes X005 made in Arcadia, California. The Blue Line Selvedge denim is American Cone Mills. Matt says the jeans fit a size to small so he went up one from his original sizing. This type of denim is known to stretch through multiple wears. Matt’s shirt is a Deadstock Navy issued chambray from 1997.

Jana’s aviator outfit was from a mixture of vintage stores throughout Minnesota. It goes perfect with the small plane pictured above. Overall all it was great to be a part of this photo shoot and for Columbus & Co. to have our own. We have more photos from this shoot that we will post in the coming days. So check back to see more of the looks and scenes from Black Rose Productions.
